Marissa is an active member of the gluten free community. She publishes recipes, gluten free product reviews, informative articles and Searching for Serenity, a personal blog that is full of tips and tricks on homeschooling, writing, working and living in a gluten free world.
She is also the Executive Director at the Compassion in Action Center - A Christian community help center in Independence, Missouri.
Prior to becoming a freelance writer and working in the non-profit sector, Marissa spent several years as an educator in the early elementary grades. During this time, she gained experience in weighing and implementing classroom policies.
Marissa is a graduate of The Institute of Children's Literature. She writes for various publications, with credits including: Gling.com, children’s stories, non-fiction articles, SEO web content and poetry.
